When I’m writing it takes all of me. I mean every single cell.
When I’m really writing it takes every cell in my body, total concentration,
and my whole life is in it. My whole life is on the line.
When I’m painting, I’m whistling, I’m playing music, I’m just happy.
The predominant emotion is happiness. With writing there isn’t any predominant emotion.
My whole life is distilled into that task. And I give my life over into the tip of that task.
I want to say my whole life is distilled into god — if god is everything.
